Ireland’s Ex-PM Leo Varadkar joins American PR giant Penta, which suggests Microsoft, Google, Openai

Ireland’s front road, Leo Varadkar, resigned as prime minister in April 2024, and will take up a consulting role at the US public relations giant Penta.

Penta, who acquired Irish PR firm Hume Brophy in 2023, said he has appointed Varadkar to its advisory board, while former Irish Doysach will hold the position next month.

From Doysach to PR: A new chapter in Leo Varadeka

Leo Varadkar is an Irish politician who named himself an outstanding figure in the Gael Party. From 2017 to 2020, he served twice as Doysach (Prime Minister) from 2022 to 2024.

Leo Varadkar also served as a ministerial portfolio including the Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Social Protection, Health and Transportation, Tourism and Sports.

Leo Varadkar was born in Dublin in 1979 and is an Irish nurse and an Indian-born doctor who was eligible for a general practitioner before entering politics.

Leo Varadkar became a MP at the age of 24 and was elected to the Irish Carlia in 2007.

He is the youngest Doysah (Prime Minister) in Ireland, and the first to openly gay leader and the first Doysah with a minority background.

He resigned from his position as Doysach in April 2024 and joined the PR company Penta.

What is Penta, a US public relations company?

Headquartered in Europe, North America and Asia, Penta has an office and advises some of the world’s largest companies, including Open AI, Johnson & Johnson and America Bank of America.

In addition, Microsoft, Google and JP Morgan are also Penta customers.

Penta, who employs 350 employees, including 20, has acquired Hume Brophy, an Irish public relations firm founded by John Hume, son of former SDLP leader John Hume, and acquired the son of Dublin businessman Eoin Brophy in 2023 in 2023.

The deal was backed by U.S. stock company Falfurrias Capital, a financial instrument for former Bank of America CEO Hugh McColl.

What does Penta have to say about Leo Varadkar?

According to a report by the Irish Media Company, Penta confirmed that they have appointed Leo Varadkar to its advisory board, adding that the former Irish Prime Minister will bring “a lot of global leadership experience” to the company.

“He will provide advanced strategic consulting and will work with our team around the world,” Ireland reported.

Penta also pointed out that Varadkar will not lobby.

It is understood that the ethical regulatory body (the standard of the Public Office Committee) regarding the appointment of Leo Varadkar has been consulted and the role and the starting date have been paid.

“Just like Taoiseach’s two terms, Mr Varadkar was the first to carry out major policy reforms and crisis management, which shapes Ireland’s strong global position,” Penta said.

They went on to say, “As the Pentagon expands rapidly in 2025 and beyond, his expertise in browsing complex geopolitical landscapes, economic development and progressive social change will be invaluable.”
