Darshan Mehta, former managing director of Reliance Brands, passed away

Darshan Mehta, former managing director of Reliance Brands Limited (RBL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), passed away Tuesday night. He is 64 years old.

Mehta wasn’t until recently the managing director of Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) and then became a non-executive director of the RBL’s board of directors last November. He is a chartered accountant and before joining Reliance Industries, he was the president of Arvind Brands Ltd, a local clothing retailer.

Reliance Brands Limited was founded in 2007 under the leadership of Mehta. He led RIL’s portfolio of premium lifestyle brands, bringing iconic labels to the Indian market.
