Is the turnaround of Dhoni Script Chennai OK? This is what the CEO of CSK said

New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings has never hit the panic button as a franchise, and despite five-time champions in the regular IPL this season, its CEO Kasi Viswanathan told PTI on Wednesday that it wasn’t anything to worry about.

CSK has lost five straight games this season, making more than half of the game, and has been in a strait with six of the eight games.

Their lack of firepower in the batting department, and the absence of Captain Rutlay Gackwad due to injury only made the legendary costume worse.

The CSK CEO also talked about his running in IPL 2025.

“We haven’t been doing well. We’re working on improving and we’re going to try to do a great job in the next few games. We’ve never pressed the panic button in the franchise and it’s not that, it’s just a game.”

MS Dhoni led the team in Gaikwad’s absence, but as head coach Stephen Fleming put it, “he didn’t have a magic wand” and couldn’t change the fate of the team overnight.

After defeating the Mumbai Indians, CSK found himself in a winning situation for the remaining six games, and Dhoni has talked about plans for 2026.

Can the Dhoni script change after taking over from Gaikwad to compete in the middle?

“Look, it’s not anyone’s problem. It’s a problem and the team should do well, not just one person. We don’t talk to the team managers. Dhoni will do the right thing for the team.”

He added: “Our expectations as administrators are good performance for the team and we don’t criticize our team at all.”
