Decomposed bodies of two sisters found in Secunderabad apartment

Hyderabad: Carlhana police recovered the highly decomposed bodies of the two sisters from an apartment in Sesendrabad under suspicious circumstances. According to Deputy Inspector K. Naresh, the deceased were identified as 60-year-old Veena and 59-year-old Meena, a resident of Srinidhi Apartments. They were suspected of passing away on April 3.

The incident was revealed on Tuesday, a 58-year-old school teacher and the victim’s sister Balvuri Sadhana, who received a neighbor complaining about the stink in the apartment.

Sadana complained that her parents had seven daughters and one son. Her two sisters died, and the other three were married and lived separately. Veena and Meena lived together in the apartment for 25 years. Sadhana said both sisters were unemployed and were said to be mentally ill and were treated.

The sisters often kept in touch with Sadhana by phone, and contacted her for the last time. Sadhana became suspicious when she didn’t hear from them for ten days.

On April 13, around 2.15 p.m., she received a call from Carhana police informing her neighbors that they had reported the stinky smell of the apartment. Sadhana rushed to the apartment and found the door locked from inside.

Although the doorbell rang repeatedly, there was no response. In the presence of Sadhana, the police arranged a key figure to open the door. Police said they found both sisters lying on the bed in the hall after entering the apartment.

Police suspect the sister may have died of suicide. Under the registration of BNSS Section 194, a case of death in a suspicious situation has been registered. Police are awaiting an autopsy report to determine the cause of death when an investigation is conducted.
