IPL 2025, DC vs GT: Ishant hit a bouncing player who hit Ashutosh’s shoulder, but the referee didn’t rule it out. This led to intense exchanges between the two players.
A verbal dispute occurred between GT experienced walker Ishant Sharma and DC’s Ashutosh Sharma in a clash between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Delhi Capital (DC) on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The event unfolded at the end of Game 19 before the final of the DC inning began.
At the end of the penultimate end, Ishant outputs a short ball, grazing Ashutosh’s shoulders before being caught by the ticket inspector. GT called for the ball to catch, but the referee ruled it as leg goodbye, believing it was not eliminated after reviewing the replay, which showed that the ball was not in contact with the bat.
When Ishant walked past Ashutosh after completing the spell, he approached the batsman, seemingly questioning the referee’s decision. In response, Ashutosh signaled to his shoulders, indicating where the ball was touching.

To calm Ishant down, Ashutosh rolled up his sleeves, revealing where the ball hit him. It is unclear whether the communication between the two players was a light joke or a heated debate, but the incident quickly attracted social media attention.
Ishant played three games for the team led by Shubman Gill, and in the process he took a wicket. He fired Donovan Ferreira on the fourth goal of the 19th. Ashutosh ranked 6th in the Delhi Capitals with 37 scores, including 2 four-pointers and 3 six-pointers.
His influential inning helped DC reach 203 runs and lost 20 wickets.
Captain Axar Patel was the top scorer against GT in the Delhi Capitals, scoring 39 goals with 1 four-pointer and 2 six-pointer from 32 balls. Karun Nair and Tristan Stubbs contributed 31 times to the total number of DCs, respectively.
Prasidh Krishna played for the host and ended with 41 points with two-quarters. His four-door trailer lifted his general wicket to 14 of seven IPL 2025 games on Saturday, making him the current leader in the Purple Hat in this year’s IPL match.
