The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will conduct two outreach activities as Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s Axiom-4 Mission (AX-4) of Indian Astronaut Group, which is scheduled to launch the International Space Station (ISS) from NASA’s Kennedy Passaway Center on June 8, 2025.
NASA International Space Station Program Manager Dana Weigel said at the virtual mission overview press conference, the upcoming AX-4 press conference said: “As part of this mission, NASA is working with ISRO to host a shared public downlink event to demonstrate the strength of international cooperation and to demonstrate the performance of our commitment to Space NASA and ISRO, which could also scale up five raids and conduct five raids.’”’
Student Activities
Sudeesh Balan, director of the ISRO program, further elaborated on Sudeesh Balan, saying the Space Agency is planning two student activities in which astronauts will interact directly with the student community.
“One activity is a student activity where astronauts will interact directly with the student community…We are planning two such activities nationwide. In addition to that, there is an amateur radio link, an existing tradition in the ISS. Two activities are being conducted in India. We have already done two places in India.
ISRO has been shortlisted for seven microgravity research experiments proposed by Principal Investigators of India (PIS) from various national R&D laboratories and academic institutions to implement ISS.
In addition, ISRO and NASA will conduct five experiments, which will be mainly on the Human Research Program, which will be participated by Captain Shukla.
Crew members
In addition to Captain Shukla, the pilot of the AX-4 mission, the other four crew members were US commander Peggy Whitson, missionary expert Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, and Hungary missionary expert Tibor Kapu. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will push AX-4 crew to the International Space Station from the launch complex 39A of the NASA Kennedy Space Center in NASA, Florida.
Sarah Walker, director of SpaceX Dragon Mission Management, said the teams are currently carrying the final integration campaign of dragons. “We hope to deliver the dragon to our hangar next week and blend it with the Rockets,” she said.
Ms. Weger added that on May 21, the station plans to conduct a flight preparation review of the mission.
