The Telangana government plans to establish a major information technology knowledge center in Puppalaguda, covering an area of 450 acres.
This is after the Supreme Court’s instructions, do not disturb the government’s 400-acre Kancha Gachibowli land in IT parks planned earlier. A senior meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Tax Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu reviewed the plan on Thursday. Mr Vikramarka said the project aims to promote the city’s IT infrastructure and create jobs for about 500,000 young people.
Land specifically for IT hubs includes areas previously allocated to MLAS, MPs, IAS officials and tax officials in the housing community. These land allocations were recently canceled by the Supreme Court. Mr Vikramarka said that under the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), an additional 250 acres of land will be consolidated into the development of the hub.
