ITI’s network center for operating the Bharatnet III project in Himaal Pradesh

Bangalore-based ITI Ltd. is India’s first independent PSU and telecom manufacturing company, starting work at the State Network Operations Center (S-NOC) of the Motumental Bharatnet Phase III project in Pradesh Solan, Himael, which coordinates with BSNL.

According to ITI, S-NOC is a centralized location, and ITI Limited will monitor and manage the performance, security and availability of project network infrastructure to ensure efficient service delivery.

The project will be implemented by ITI Limited in Himaal Pradesh, under which 3,615 g Panchayats will be connected to the 91 block headquarters via 10 GBPS bandwidth, and the block will be connected to the BSNL IP-MPLS ring network. The connectivity will be extended to 1,538 villages across the state. The project has approximately 20,000 km of fiber optic cable (OFC) laid in Himaal Pradesh.

In November 2024, ITI Ltd. appeared in the Bharatnet III project in Himaal Pradesh, the number 8 package, as well as the number 9 package of West Bengal, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, with a total order value of Rs 50,500 crore.

The project is envisioned to develop a Midway Mile Network (DBOM) model of the Bharatnet project in the design construction and is funded by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) of the Government of India.

The Indian government launched the Bharatnet Phase III project to connect all gram panchayats nationwide to the IP-MPLS ring network. This modern S-NOC will monitor connectivity for all Gram panchayats (GPS) in Himaal Pradesh and will help provide connectivity to consumers in the last mile.

“The project is an important step towards digital connectivity and rural empowerment in Himaal Pradesh, which will help provide high-speed broadband services in rural areas,” said Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited.
