Following Kerala story with amazing success, Adah Sharma has won huge fans, the highest-grossing female-leading film of all time and received a great box office collection of Rs 3.78 crore. The Kerala story, released in 2023, sparked a conversation around sensitive topics surrounding allegedly forcing Hindu and Christian women to convert to Islam. Building on her momentum, Adah will now tackle another socially related problem with the upcoming movie Tumko Meri Kasam, which addresses taboos around IVF.

Speaking exclusively in DNA India, Adah claimed that Tumko Meri Kasam would change the meaning of manhood. “The film talks about a topic, and a lot of people are afraid to reveal it is a taboo topic. I think the film will give a new definition for the term “Mardangi”.”

Directed by Vikram Bhatt, Tumko Meri Kasam is inspired by the life of Dr. Ajay Murdia, the founder of Indira IVF, who deals with the sensitive and often taboo themes of IVF and fertility. In the movie, Adah plays Indira, the wife of Ajay Murdia. The film also starred in Anupam Kher, Ishwak Singh and Esha Deol.

Adah shares a touching anecdote about the heartfelt voice of experienced actor Anupam Kher, who impresses with her Indira’s performance. “He was really friendly and after watching this movie he sent me a half-third voice notes detailing my performance. I was really moved and I think he was so generous, you know, a big star working in India and outside. He worked in the show, he performed very much, and he still chose these detailed performances and detailed my performances, she was happy, she was happy, she was happy, I was happy, I was happy.

Additionally, Adah revealed that Anupam’s performance in Kerala’s story is particularly encouraging. “Even after the Kerala story, he called me to tell me what he thought of my performance. He was like in some scenes, I thought, how did she do it? It looks so real. It doesn’t look like she was performing. I just think it’s very encouraging you to learn from him.”

Additionally, the veteran actor gave her valuable advice, highlighting the importance of today’s industry. “He did give me a tip, too, saying you know it’s not just about the show today, but about marketing, so please understand, because it’s not your strong point, you need to work hard because if you act really well and aren’t selling well, then you don’t even know that you act really well,” she added.

Adah Sharma’s Tumko Meri Kasam is produced by Indira Entertainment and also plays key roles as Durgesh Kumar, Sushant Singh, Nazeea Syed Hasan, Shubhankar Das and Manmeet Singhney. The film will be released in cinemas on March 21, 2025.
