Jawadhu Hills’ official high school is about to be upgraded

Due to the steep hills and difficult to navigate, no government buses operate on this route.

After a long wait, the government high school in Nayakaneri, a village on Jawadhu Hills near the town of Anben will soon be upgraded to the senior middle level.
According to the 2025-26 budget proposed by Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu on Friday, 14 high schools in remote areas, including Pappireddipatti Village (Dharmapuri), Thalavadi Village (Erode), Chinna Salem, Kalvarayan Hills (Kallakuruchi) and Jawawadhu Hills, will be Upgrad’s.
“Students must go to Devalapuram Village, located in the foothills, for upper class. Upgrades to high schools will ensure students complete their studies on the hills,” said parent V. Selvi.
On three acres, it is a school built in 1963 in Panchayat, Nayakaneri village – including Nayakaneri, Kamanur Thattu and Panakatteri Hamlets, with about 3,500 people in nine wards, including 280 students, including 146 girls.
Students come from at least 10 small villages, including Naduvur, Meluluur and Pudueriyur, located in small villages. Most of them belong to the Schedule Tribe (ST).
“Upgrades will prevent dropouts, especially among girls, as students will be motivated to continue learning. A few months ago, after then Tirumattur collector K. Tharpagaraj sought a report, we will ask for a request to the school education department.” Principal K. Arunpandi is responsible.
Currently, the school has six classrooms and 11 teachers. Despite remote areas, the school still reaches more than 90% of the pass percentages in the percentage of Level X upgrades, as it was upgraded to the high school level in 2008. Each year, about 100 grade X students are eliminated from school.
Currently, a private mini car is between Nayakaneri and Ambur Town every day, with only two trips at 6.30 am and 8 pm. Due to the steep hills and difficult to navigate, no government buses operate on this route.
High school students were forced to go to Nayakaneri to climb the crowded mini-total men. However, they chose to walk up the hill to reach the public schools on the plains.
Parents and residents mobilized Rs 2 lakh as a “warning deposit” and paid it to the school education department.
Part of the program is sufficient classrooms, labs, playgrounds and efforts to increase enrollment.
“The upgrade of Nayakaneri schools has been a long-term need for residents. A suggestion was also sent in this regard. “This school will be upgraded soon,” an education official said. ”
