However, the board later directed the team to blur the background in the final print. “The review board didn’t mention anything about the trailer cut, but later it told us that blur the background in the film printing. It was done even before people objected,” he said. Malineni reiterated his position on filmmaking and audience sensitivity, adding that “if it had to be a blockbuster, it had to be watched as many people as possible. No filmmaker wants to hurt anyone or community. We want to entertain them.”

Previously, the film’s production team issued an official apology, acknowledging public attention and confirming that the relevant scene has been deleted. “The specific scenes in the film caused a rebound. The scene has been removed from the film and has a direct impact. Our purpose is not to hurt any religious emotions. We deeply regretted and quickly took action to remove the scene in the film. We sincerely put everyone in the faith that has been hurt.”

JatDirected by Malineni, the ensemble cast includes Sunny Deol, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra and Randeep Hooda. Set against a gritty rural setting, the film explores the themes of identity, justice and social tension in depth. Hooda plays a conflicting role, navigating politics, violence and redemption, while supporting actors add depth to the film’s narrative.
