Jabalpur factory cancels staff to meet production target

Bhopal: Authorities at the ordnance factory Khamaria (OFK) in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh have cancelled leaves for officers and employees for more than two days.

OFK Public Relations Officer (Pro) Avinash Shankar told the media that the decision was to achieve production goals.

Professionals say OFK has not achieved the desired target in April, and because the fiscal target is set large, the headquarters has requested the removal of leaves to ensure that there is enough labor available for this purpose.

OFK is one of the largest units of the Indian Ammunition Limited (MIL), with approximately 4,000 employees.

OFK's official website says the department's mission is to produce state-of-the-art battlefield equipment.

According to the website, the department is making ammunition for the military, navy and air force.

The department’s vision is to “equip our armed forces with modern defense and battlefield equipment” and to “add the customer base of defense, unsanitation and export markets and build global reach”, the website said.
