Jagan accuses Andhra Govt of creating cases against YSRC leaders

Amaravati: YSRC President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday accused the Andhra Pradesh government of using arrests and false cases to instill fear and silent opposition. His remarks came in the context of a questioning the party’s Lok Sabha member Midhun Reddy, in a tens of millions of alcohol scam during the last YSRCP regime and were arrested in suspected harassment for former intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu.

“We have to stand up for the people and question the destructive governance of the state that continues to threaten democratic institutions,” Reddy said.

The former chief minister claimed that the government was targeting party leaders and spreading false narratives, thus shifting attention beyond failure and corruption. He refers to Anjaneyulu’s arrest and questioning Midhun Reddy, who he said were politically motivated and foul.

Opposition leaders claim that the state government is trying to involve YSRCP leaders in fake cases. He also filed corruption charges against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He further claimed that the government was allocating land to the company of choice in opaque situations, granting exaggerated contracts without litigation proceedings, and ignoring the cheque or balance of governance.

According to the former CM, the country’s income is decreasing, while wealth is concentrated in a few areas. He said welfare plans were stagnant, alliance commitments remained unfulfilled, and the debt rise reflected poor financial management. Jagan warned that if not inspected, the government’s actions would deepen a systemic collapse, leading to anarchy and financial chaos across the state.
