This is a response to JD Vance’s comment on Chinese workers as “farmers”. “We borrow money from Chinese farmers to buy things made by Chinese farmers,” said Lin Jian, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, in a daily news briefing. “China’s position on China’s trade relations is already very clear. It is surprising and sad to hear the vice president’s remarks that are so ignorant and disrespectful.”
