JD Vance urges India to open markets and buy more US energy, weapons

U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday called on India to enter its market more and buy more U.S. energy and defense hardware, outlining a vision for stronger ties between the two countries.

He said India and the United States both work to reach bilateral trade agreements based on common priorities. He said the future of the 21st century will depend on the strength of India and the United States. Vance said trade relations must be based on fairness, referring to President Donald Trump’s policies on trade and tariffs.

He said we want to create a new world. He also said President Trump is trying to rebalance global trade so that friends like the United States can build a better future with friends like India. In defense, our country enjoys close relations and we can build many military platforms together, he said.

Vance also won Modi’s leadership. “I told Prime Minister Modi last night that he received the approved rating that made me jealous,” he said.
