Jin explores the complexity of love in the new single “Don’t say you love me”

BTS’ Jin released “Don’t Say You Love Me”, the title single from his second mini album echo.
The song is about uncertainty in a relationship, and while the cracks begin to surface, the two are still trying to let go. It is a melancholy pop track that conveys the inner conflict that this situation brings, and the lyrics poignantly express the pain: “Fake ‘When we break’ separate / Oh, I never, never go too far / too late to save me, so don’t even start / Oh, you never hurt me, but you’re hard for you to hurt me.”
The song comes with a K-Drama-like music video directed by Choi Yongseok, which includes Jin and popular Korean actor Shin Sae-kyung. We see Jin watching Shin drive away, perseverance and cover up his inner turmoil.
As the narrative develops, Kim shows in monochrome reality that his relationship with Shin is juxtaposed around colorful flashbacks. Their mood is still high when they recall flooding again while crossing the road at the gallery. With a dramatic ending, Jin attempts to stick with love, chases Shin’s departure from the car, and eventually reunites with her, albeit clumsy.
