JK parties unite to condemn Pahalgam attack

Jamu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) have called on the people to make the band “completely successful” and join in condemning the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
“At the direction of the party chairman, JKNC joined the collective appeal for strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attacks. We call on the J&K people to ensure that the HARTAL called by Hartal, convened by religious and social leaders, has been successful.”
Jamu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) head Mehbooba Mufti expressed solidarity with the victims’ families and supported the closure, calling it an “attack on all of us”.
“Zamu calls for a complete shutdown tomorrow to protest the terrible radical attack on tourists. I call on all Kashmiris to unite in support of this candid, which marks a sign of respect for innocent lives brutally infringed by Pahalgam, which is not just a powerful attack on us, it is an attack on all people – we stand in all attacks, we stand in our attacks, we stand in our attacks, we stand in our attacks, we stand in our attacks, the massacre of innocent people,” Mufti posted on X.
The Jamu-kashmir Student Association (JKSA) called the attack a “attack on the souls of Jamu and Kashmir” and expanded support for the band.
“JKSA will fully support the band convened by the Indoor and Bar Association Chamu tomorrow in response to the terrorist attacks on Pahargam tourists. This tragic attack is not only an attack on a few people; it is an attack on the soul of Chamu & Kashmir.”
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of the Hurriyat Conference of all parties, urged Jamu and Kashmir people to support the closure and peacefully protest against “heerful crimes”.

Meanwhile, Abdul Majid Wani, the leader of the democratic and progressive Azad Party, urged the central and state governments to take action against the perpetrators of the attack and provide all possible help to the families of the deceased.
“…No religion says killing anyone. A person who kills anyone is not a religion. The central government and the state government should act on those responsible for such attacks… The government should provide all possible help to families who have lost their loved ones…” Vanney said.
The incident targeted tourists in the Pahalgam area of the Anatnag region, which sparked widespread outrage across the country. Several political leaders condemned the attack.
Jamu and Kashmir residents participated in candlelight parades in several places in the state to defeat the Pahargam terrorist attacks on Tuesday.
The locals in Baramulla, Srinagar, Poonch and Kupwara held a candlelight parade, while Bajrang dal workers in Chamu carried out protests against the terrorist attacks.
Locals in the territory of Khod village in Akhall area also held a candle parade to protest against the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said five tourists from Maharashtra were also killed in the recent Pahargam terrorist attack.
Deputy CM has asked Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to arrange a special flight to evacuate stranded tourists in Maharashtra.
In response to the appeal, the Union Minister assured Sind that efforts would begin to be made to ship it to Mumbai once the list of stranded individuals were shared with the ministry.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Jamu and Pahalgam in Kashmir and said the people behind such outrageous acts would be brought to justice.
In an article on X, Prime Minister Modi said that those responsible for this abominable act will be brought to justice. Prime Minister Modi said: “I strongly condemn the terrorist attacks in Pahargam, Jamu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured will recover as soon as possible.
He added: “The people behind this outrageous act will be brought to justice… They will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our determination to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will become even stronger.”
Following the Pahargam terrorist attack, the Union Home Secretary Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting with all agencies.
Home Minister Shah arrived in Srinagar on Tuesday night for a security review meeting. He said earlier that those involved in this terrorist act would not be spared.
The Indian Army and Jamu and Kashmir Police have launched a search operation in the Baisran general area of Anantnag Pahalgam to occupy the perpetrators of the attackers.
Delhi police were also instructed to keep a close eye on tourist venues and other important places.
