New Delhi: Global leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump have extended their blessings to former U.S. President Joe Biden, who was recently diagnosed with a positive prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Biden was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 and bone metastasis.
In a heartfelt message posted on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern about Biden’s health, saying: “I’m very worried about hearing Joe Biden’s health. Extending our greatest blessing to him for a quick recovery. Our thoughts are about Dr. Jill Biden and his family.”

PM Modi’s statement, published in Biden’s office, stated in a statement that the 82-year-old former president was diagnosed with prostate cancer due to worsening urine symptoms, resulting in the discovery of prostate nodules. The Gleason score for cancer was 9 (grade 5), indicating metastasis to bones. Although the disease is aggressive, cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive and can be managed effectively.
According to a statement from Biden’s office: “Last week, President Joe Biden discovered new findings for prostate nodules after experiencing new findings that increased symptoms of urine. Biden and his family are currently reviewing treatment plans with doctors, and hormone therapy is one of the methods being considered. The former president’s health has been a focus before, removing skin lesions in 2023 and removing benign polyps from his colon in 2021.
