During the film promotion of “The Thug Life”, the actors were asked about their opinions on marriage.
The anchor on the stage asks you what you think about marriage. Trisha Krishnan answered. “I don’t believe in marriage. If it happens, it’s OK, and if it doesn’t, it’s OK.”
When Kamal Hassan was asked the same, he spoke with Congressman John Brittas about a decade-old incident.
Hassan replied in Tamil: “This happened 10-15 years ago. MPBrittas is a great friend of mine. He asked me around a group of college students, you come from a good Brahmin family, how did you get married, how did I get married? I said, what did I say from a good family have to do with marriage? Path; maybe I followed his father’s (Dasharatha) (with three wives).”
Hassan married Vani Ganapathy in 1978 after working with Melnattu Marumagal, a 1975 film. Ten years later, the couple divorced.
The actor then dated actor Sarika Thakur and gave birth to their first child, Shruti Haasan, in 1986.
Later, they got married in 1988 and had a second child, Akshara Haasan.
The couple filed for divorce in 2002 and received a divorce in 2004.
Kamal Haasan has since dated actor Gautami from 2005 to 2016.
Kamal Haasan appeared for the last time in the movie “Indian 2” directed by S. Shankar. His next film, The Thug Life, is directed by Mani Rantnam and will be released in theaters on June 5.
