Lanchami History

The knowledge behind Rang Panchami is connected to Lord Shiva and Kamadeva. According to Indian mythology, Kamadeva, the god of love, attempts to awaken Shiva from deep meditation with his flower arrows. Lord Shiva, however, was angry at the riot and opened his third eye to reduce Kamadeva to the ashes. After that, Kamadeva’s wife Rati and other gods defended his return.
Lord Shiva was moved by their dedication, but recovered only in one spiritual form. To celebrate, the gods play in color – marking the origin of Rang Panchami. This festival symbolizes the victory of the divine energy, rather than the recovery of negative and balance.

The meaning of panchami

Rang Panchami is not only a festival of color. It has religious and spiritual significance. It represents a victory over negative energy and pays homage to the five elements of nature, including fire, earth, water, air and space. Many believe that providing God with color during this festival brings blessings and prosperity.

Pachami ceremony

Rang Panchami celebrates with piety and joy. Like Holi, people apply colors and gura to each other. The temple is decorated with flowers. In some places, large parades were conducted, including music, folk dances and drummers. Devotees perform special prayers and rituals in temples.
No food, no celebration is complete. People prepare special dishes to celebrate the day. There are special dishes such as Puran Poli, Gujiya, Malpua, etc.
