Kadambot Siddique was selected for the 2024 Crawford Foundation Medal Award

The 2024 Crawford Foundation Medal has been awarded to Thrissur Kodungalloor’s agricultural scientist, educator and collaborator Kadambot Siddique.
Professor Siddique serves as Professor Hackett and Director of Agriculture at the UWA Agricultural Research Institute at the University of Western Australia.
The award is to recognize those who have made considerable contributions to international agricultural research through the Crawford Foundation’s programs and related activities.
Professor Siddique will present the award at the Crawford Foundation’s 2025 conference, which will be held on August 11, 2025 at the Canberra Parliament Building.
Professor Siddique has served on the WA Crawford Fund Wa committee since 1999 and has led and co-led and co-led numerous international projects at the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
His contributions to crop physiology, production agronomy, agricultural systems, genetic resources, cereals, cereals, and oil seed crops were obtained with appropriate weight.
He was awarded the 2023 Scientist of the Year at the premier science award in Western Australia, and became a member of the World Academy of Sciences in 2024 and was appointed as the Special Ambassador of the 2016 International Pulse Year by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, highlighting his global reach for research and international agricultural science.
He is a member of the Australian College of Technical Sciences and Engineering, a foreign academician of the National College of Agricultural Sciences in India, and received the Friendship Award in 2019, the highest recognition of foreign experts from the Chinese government, and acknowledging his contribution to Chinese agriculture for twenty years.
