Kalaburagi farmers to receive a record Rs 6677.3 crore relief package

Of the total amount, Rs 575.194 crore will be paid as the crop insurance claim is a claim against 2,04,073 farmers who grow pigeon peas (Toor), green g, black g, soybean, cotton and other crops. In addition, 2,01,847 farmers have received temporary relief of Rs 763.4 crore due to local natural disasters.
To further assist farmers, the government has set the price for chickpeas support at ₹7,550, with an additional incentive of Rs 450 per boxing. So far, Rs 1,083 crore has been allocated to 9,189 farmers under the plan.
In response to the severe weather conditions in August and September 2024, causing extensive crop damage on 16,373 hectares of land, Rs 1,347 crore has been allocated to 35,086 farmers under the National and State Drought Relief Fund.
The Minister confirmed that the compensation data is in progress and the funds will be transferred directly to the farmers’ bank account soon.
