Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin revealed that he fell into depression after watching Christopher Nolan’s founding: “This has had such an impact on me…”

After producing two acclaimed films, Yevade Subramanyam and Mahanati, Nag Ashwin gained a huge reputation after directing the 2024 epic fabulous sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD. Kalki 2898 AD, made with a huge budget of Rs 6 billion, became the world’s blockbuster with a box office of Rs 10.5 billion and became the second highest Indian film in 2024, behind Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rules, Ruler, played by Allu Arujun, Rashmika Mandann and Fahadh faasial.
Nag Ashwin recently interacted with college students at the BV Raju Institute of Technology in Telangana Narsapur. In the video shared on Gulte.com, when the reporter asked him before opening to the audience, “How difficult is it to come up with an original idea in this era when people consume everything?”, the director replied, “I think it will happen to a lot of people. Then, you write something and you’ll see a trailer with the same idea or the same concept.”
When the Kalki 2898 AD director asked further, “Which one is similar to your idea?”, he shared, “I don’t have the same idea, but a very similar idea to Inception. It’s something from 2007 or 2008. But I’m writing memories, and the movie is about dreams, but once I saw the trailer, I dropped the idea. I’m already in a frustrated frustration.
The filmmaker then emphasized that, as he explained, it is important to be more genuine than the real originality of today’s era. This story and those characters will still feel. ”
