Heatwave Action Plan 2025 Recommends Drinking Water on Bus, Shelter for NREGS Workers in Telangana

Hyderabad: Provide drinking water in buses, hourly water bells in educational institutions, daily wages for MGNREGA workers, Mandal-Wise Heat Implast Sugmits Sugitigation lowers mitigation plans for agricultural workers and sends bulk SMS alerts to the hot conditions that are coming.
These are a series of recommendations for government departments and agencies, as well as some very detailed regional instructions to prepare the government in the “Heatwave Action 2025 2025” prepared by the Taxation Bureau (Disaster Management) department for the government and help people cope with the severe heat of June.
The state government has declared heatwave days (in the order of April 15) as a “state-specific disaster”, resulting in an all-love-style boost for families who may succumb to hot winds ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 4 lakh.
“The Heatwave Action program is designed to ensure ownership of all Heatwave-related actions in coordination with multiple departments. The idea is to help regional collectors focus on the responses they need,” Arvind Kumar, secretary general of Disaster Management, told Deccan Chronicle.
Preparation of the report also provides insights on particularly vulnerable services, especially the 31,897 major Anwanwadi centres and 4,076 mini Anganwadi centres, identified as vulnerable to heat waves.
Both the Centre and the World Bank appreciate the 361-page document, which includes detailed regional action plans, including the names of ASHA workers in each residential area, and the responsibilities of the department.
Last year’s data showed that the largest heat wave days in the Nargonda area were 81, followed by Suryapet, with 54 of which were the highest in any given year in the last 11 years since the inception of Telangana. Data from the last decade also suggests that the number of heat wave days may be increasing.
In 2024, there will be 34, 33 and 28 days of heat waves for artificial residents, Peddapalli and Jagtial areas, respectively, while Kumuram Bheem-Bheem-Asifabad and Jogulamba-Gadwal have 16 days, Nagarkarkurnool 24 and Karimnagar 18 days, respectively. There were less than 15 heatwave days in the other 19 regions, while 5 regions (Adilabad, Rajanna-Sircilla, Hyderabad, Medak and Hanmakonda) did not have Heatwave Days last year.
