Karbi Anglong develops from rebellion: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday (17 April 2025) that Karbi Anglong, once a hotbed of insurgency, signed six outbreaks in 2021 after signing the Peace Accord and the Peace Agreement.

“Once the troubled region has embarked on a journey of peace and development, with particular attention to the reintegration of former militants,” the Chief Minister said during a two-day visit to Karbi Anglong Hill Distion.

The Chief Minister will also meet with representatives of six outfits that signed the peace agreement and review the terms of the settlement. Mr. Salma posted on X: “Karbi Anglong has had a huge turnaround in recent years, from guns to peanuts and extremism to entrepreneurship. ”

“We met a former carrier composed of various armed groups who gave up violence to help build a prosperous society. Through our various reintegration programs, many have become fishing and agricultural entrepreneurs as well as job creation,” he said.

“The state government is implementing the Kabi Peace Agreement with the development of “Faith and Spirit” and the central Rs 10,000 crore package,” he said.

“Sometimes, I also reviewed the resolution clauses with the former carriers of 6 previous groups,” Sarma added.

Representatives of all six Karbi costumes, Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF), Karbi Longri People’s Democracy Commission (PDCK) (PDCK), the three factions of the Liberation of the People, Manchester United (KPLT) and the Ruler of the United People’s Liberation Army (UPLA) announced a court in September 2021 during the same term.
