Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh said on Monday that Karnataka is establishing a quantum research park (Phase 2) and AI Center for Application of Technology Solutions (CATS) to promote AI-based management of government.
She said measures have been taken to introduce AI courses at the school level statewide, jointly with IIITB.
Speaking at the seventh session of the JSS University of Science and Technology (JSS Stu), Dr. Shalini Rajneesh said initiatives such as the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission and the Center for Global Capacity have made significant progress in areas such as AI, blockchain and cloud computing.
She said initiatives like the Rajiv Gandhi Entrepreneur Program and the New Age Innovation Network are fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. These programs provide financial support, incubate and mentor young innovators and support them in developing prototypes and launching startups. The initiative reflects Karnataka’s commitment to building a strong talent pipeline and fostering a thriving startup ecosystem.
She said “Kalike Jothege Kaushalya”, a skill-based learning designed to provide skills development and career guidance. Similarly, “Prerana” is a structured guidance that began in 2024-25 and aims to connect the resources of industry and society, “Avishkar” is helping to build a comprehensive intellectual property ecosystem in engineering, science and technology and first-year degree colleges.
