Bangalore: On Friday, Karnataka’s cabinet decided to dismiss Dr. GS Balakrishna, gynecologist at Koppa Taluk in Chikamagaluru, because the department asked to find him guilty of a baby girl of Rs 50,000. In addition, two engineers will be laid off after a criminal court conviction.
Law Minister HK Patil, briefing media sources said Dr. Balakrishna is accused of facing departmental investigation after being charged with selling Kalpana’s baby on March 14, 2020. The investigation found that Dr. Balakrishna found that Dr. Balakrishna sold the baby to Hemalatha by creating fake documents to indicate her mother.
In other harsh actions against government employees, the cabinet recommended the revocation of B. Padmanabha, a former engineer at Hemavathy Canal Circle of Channarayapatna, who was convicted by the criminal court. He is currently an engineer at Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation.
Similarly, the Cabinet meeting decided to dismiss Prakash F. Hosamani, junior engineer in the weightlifting and irrigation department of Shiggaon, after he was convicted by the criminal court in another case.
Patil said the cabinet meeting will meet next week to discuss the socio-economic and educational report of the backward class committee in 2015. Some ministers commented on the report and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah noticed them.
