False flipkart job offers a cost of Hyderabad women over Rs 3.5 lakh

A 22-year-old unemployed woman from Hyderabad who cheated Rs 3.56 crore for fraudsters, is a representative of a fake online work portal claiming to be affiliated with Flipkart Internet Private Limited.

The victim received a message from WhatsApp from an account called “Flipkart Internet Private Limited” which included a link to a suspicious website. The news promises easy income through part-time job opportunities. She was attracted by the proposal and made an initial payment of Rs 200 as requested by the inquiry, after which a “commission” of Rs 100 was added to her account, an attempt to build trust.

The scam progressed with repeated requests for repeated payments – ₹1,000, followed by a “commission” of 250 rupees. Soon, she was told that investing Rs 5,000 would yield a considerable return. To increase credibility, she was added to a VIP group, a common strategy used by scammers to get legitimacy and peer engagement.

Trusted by the process, the victim continues to transfer funds in multiple installments. Over time, she lost a total of Rs 3,56,680 and received no reward. When she tried to withdraw her so-called gains, the fraudster asked for more money under the guise of processing fees and taxes. She realized she had been cheated and filed an online complaint. An investigation is underway.

The Cybercrime Wing of Hyderabad Police Department stressed that scammers often use social media platforms to attract victims with fake websites and promises of high returns, often supported by fabricated profit screenshots. These programs are not recognized by SEBI and are completely fraudulent.
