Karnataka health department has stopped opening new Jan Aushadi Kendras on the government. Hospital House

To ensure patients receive free medicine in state-owned hospitals, the government has stopped opening Jan Aushadhi Kendras, a medical facility that operates in the health sector.
The Government Order (GO) issued on May 14 directed the Health Commission to reject 31 pending applications seeking approval to open Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
Regarding the existing Jan Aushadi Kendras at the hospital premises, the ministry has directed the termination of the agreement based on the timeline mentioned in the memorandum of understanding.
This is a complaint that although patients should be provided free of charge by government hospitals, there are prescriptions to buy medication from outside.
Hospitals have been instructed to purchase generic drugs from public sector units (BPPI) of the Pharmaceutical Public Sector (BPPI) and allocate them to patients for free.
Karnataka Medical Supplies Co., Ltd. has been instructed to repair special prices to purchase generic drugs from BPPI.
“However, as it is not under the terms of reference of the health department, Jan Aushadhi Kendras was established outside government hospitals. Although permission has been obtained to open 207 Jan aushadhi Kendras in primary health centres, the decision to stop opening the new Kendras is a comprehensive review of the beginning, as the policy of starting Jan Aushadhi Kendras was initiated.
