Karnataka Infrastructure Development Minister MB Patil launched several development projects at an event held in Vijayabra District on Saturday.
It includes the ceremony to build infiltration tanks for the secondary irrigation and groundwater development sectors near Tikota Taluk. It covers an area of ​​4.73 square kilometers and has a 240 metres or 787 feet a piece. Its total water storage capacity is 2.33 mcft and its depth is 29 feet. This will provide irrigation facilities for 136 acres of land, with groundwater and wellheads in open wells as well.
The minister said water will be released into the body of water twice a year.
He urged farmers not to sell their land. He urged them to engage in various types of gardening, plantations and commercial crops. “A plan is being made to allocate water to us under the Tabach-Barbaleswar irrigation project. At least one TMCFT will be stored in the pond,” he said.
According to the official press release, he started work on two infiltration tanks in Baba Nagar Village, opening the Marathon Community Hall, a new building for Karnataka Public Schools, a national livelihood mission project building and some road works have been opened in the area.
