With the promotion of Karnataka travel destinations, the Ministry of Tourism is now focusing more on development with all aspects of hotels: from the behavior of vacationers to infrastructure.
According to a department official, domestic travel trends (travel trends within the state) have increased significantly after the introduction of the Shakti program (women can travel for free on government buses).
“The number of female travelers in particular has increased. Although we focus on improving connectivity with our destination, the demand for hours is that some of the travelers are aware of getting the best travel experience,” the senior official said.
Poor amenities
Several travelers have been complaining about bad conditions on the roadside. “Even if we travel briefly from Bengaluru to Hassan, we usually have to stop in private hotels to use toilets instead of government restrooms, which is usually not good.
These complaints are not limited to a part of the state. Tourism Bureau officials said that despite their constant contact with the Ministry of Urban Development and Public Works to install curbsides, they ended up in bad condition within a few weeks.
Educate travelers
“Some travelers steal things from faucets to buckets and water bottles. This leads to well-behaved travelers, who are the majority, forming a bad image of the journey of the tourist destination. Then, our tourism industry has many campaigns, and we also plan to hold many campaigns around us, and we also plan to announce them in the following days.
“We also ask UDD to run campaigns from time to time, and although they do hold such programs once a year, that’s not enough. We now plan to ask them to hold more of these events and help us promote responsible tourism.”
In these campaigns, the aim is to educate travelers on how to keep their restrooms clean after use, stop littering or stealing things from curbside amenities, and make tourism a good experience for the aging population, the official said.
“No matter the workload of government officials, we also need great support from the public because they should assume civic responsibility. Although not all people abroad are kind and hospitality, foreign destinations have a good reputation due to the overall travel experience of tourists. We are hospitality. However, we get a rap. Once the facilities are improved, we will see more steps in the tourist destinations,” he said. ”
