Bibinagar’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was unveiled on Monday at the Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre under the Department of Community and Family Medicine.

Yellow fever is unique to parts of Africa and South America, and there is no specific antiviral treatment. However, single doses of the vaccine provide lifetime immunity, making vaccination an important step for travelers who go to any of the 42 countries to authorize a certificate of yellow fever vaccination under International Health Regulations (IHR).

AIIMS BIBINAGAR’s vaccination center will be vaccinated every Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., which is date-based and can be done via email. yfvcaiimsbibinagar@gmail.com. Hospital authorities said the vaccine is priced at Rs 300 per dose.

However, people with certain medical conditions, such as those with oocyte protein, pregnant women, HIV/AIDS patients, or patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy, are not eligible for vaccines. These people are advised to consult the center for possible exemption certificates, which may be necessary for international travel.

To receive a vaccine, travelers must carry a valid passport because issuing an international vaccination or prevention certificate (often referred to as a yellow card) is necessary.
