Vijayawada: A team of experts from the Central Soil and Materials Research Station in New Delhi visited the Polavaram site and collected soil and rock samples for testing before being used in the Eluru district on Wednesday for irrigation projects.
The team members are composed of Siddarth Hedaoo and Vipul Kumar. Water authorities say the project’s works, especially the construction of the diaphragm wall, are being occupied. Preparations for the construction of the Earth Rock Filling Dam for the project are also in progress. The project requires nearly 5 million cubic meters of rock and 3 million cubic meters of soil.
Therefore, team members are looking for available rocks and soil on the project site to check their use for ECRF dam buildings. They will visit the project site regularly to collect rock and soil samples for testing.
