Amid student-friendly moves, the Karnataka Examination Agency (KEA) launched three digital programs on Monday. This includes a portal that provides all relevant information from the state’s universities, mobile applications that provide all services, and chatbots powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar said in an event to launch three services that KEA has been using modern technology to simplify the examination process and make them more candidates. “These advances ensure timely, accurate information, eliminate confusion and reduce reliance on intermediaries,” he said.
UGCET Academy Portal
The key stage before the option is to choose the right university. Previously, students had to rely on scattered sources to obtain information. The new UGCET Academy Portal incorporates all relevant information about the university. The University himself has uploaded its prospectus to the portal.
The portal provides detailed insights into each university’s infrastructure, academic environment, libraries, classrooms, hotels, course fee structures, and detailed information about guests and permanent faculty. The minister explained: “Many students are unaware of the conditions of the university and blindly choose changes. The portal will help avoid such problems by implementing informed decisions.”
The portal will also include the feature to report any excess fees for the university. The complaints filed here will be forwarded directly to the Fee Regulatory Commission, KEA sources said.

KEA Mobile App
The mobile app will provide access to all available services on the KEA website, including application submission, option input, selection selection and fees. It also has push notifications to make candidates updated. The app is particularly beneficial for students in rural areas that previously relied on network centers and often made mistakes during online application and seat allocation.
“Now, with the app, most programs can be processed directly by candidates on their phones,” Dr. Sudhakar noted.
Kea Chatbot
The chatbot will allow candidates to answer their inquiries immediately. KEA sources said it was launched a few days ago and since then, more than 135,000 students have sought information.
All official KEA information will be uploaded to the chatbot system. Candidates can simply type their questions and receive accurate replies based on available data. This eliminates the need to visit the KEA office or contact an external center for information. Currently, the chatbot responds only in English, but is working on a Kannada version, which is expected to be launched within a month. The system is managed by BSNL, KEA sources added.
