The Judicial Court of Kerala High Court upheld a judge’s verdict on Monday (7 April 2025) dismissed the pleas of Malayalam film actor Dileep, one of the defendants in a case related to sexual assault on the actress, a case investigated against the CBI.
The judges composed of Justices A. Muhamed Mustaq and Justices P. Krishnakumar upheld the decision while disposing of the actor’s appeal against the single judge’s ruling. The actor also attempts to reveal certain observations made by a single judge in his judgment.
However, the court noted that certain observations of a single judge were unnecessary. The bench said that unless the trial ends, observations are unnecessary in such matters.
Special Government defense lawyers believe that the single judge observed in the context of rejecting Dileep’s plea for the CBI investigation and that there would be no consequences for the ongoing trial.
Dileep’s debate
According to the actor, the investigation was “unfair, tainted, Mala Fide, the truth was suppressed.” The petitioner argued that when his mother was in prison, after her release, he himself offered an agent to the government, claiming that he was innocent and that he was wrongly implicated.

He claimed that immediately after the incident, a “consistent effort” was made to spread rumors about his involvement and to involve him in a criminal case. The first attempt by the defendant to blackmail the petitioner and threaten to implicate him in the crime. Since he has no obligation, the first defendant relates the petitioner to the crime.
According to the petitioner, he filed a complaint with the DGP in this regard, but did not investigate. He also claimed to have exerted improper influence on the investigative agency. The IG of the police department is the IG of the oversight officer, and the case was eliminated and the investigation was conducted by a number of police officers who had the “end goal of the framework” in this case. Therefore, he sought CBI investigation in this case.
