Kia India, IIT-Tirupati Ink Pact to develop automotive and industrial engineering talents

Senior automaker Kia India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT-Tirupati) to promote excellence in engineering, promote innovation in research leadership, and develop future talents in the fields of automated power and industrial engineering. The MoU will benefit 3500 students of IIT-Tirupati.
The company has invested Rs 3.5 crore in the next five years to support IIT-Tirupati’s academic infrastructure, collaborative research programmes and student development programmes. This collaboration aims to establish the agency as a center of excellence in advanced manufacturing, electric motors and sustainable automotive technology.
The Memorandum of Understanding outlines a comprehensive framework of collaboration, including an internship program with pre-choice offers (PPOs) for students, thereby facilitating seamless industry reconciliation core integration and providing students with meaningful opportunities for professional growth within the company.
In addition, based on academic achievement and financial needs, scholarships and financial aid will be awarded to due M.Tech students to ensure equitable access to advanced education and resources. IIT-Tirupati’s state-of-the-art collaboration space will be set up to promote interdisciplinary innovation.
The facility will enable students to conceptualize, design and develop functional prototypes, further enhancing the institute’s reputation as a hub for the development of cutting-edge research and applied technologies. This is not only a student of IIT-Tirupati, but also from the incubation labs of other engineering colleges. Once ready, it will benefit 1,000 students per year.
