Killer tiger caught on camera

On the second day of Saturday, searching for a tiger who killed a man in Kalikavu continued. It was on Thursday morning that Gafoor Ali, 44, was fatally attacked by a tiger while attacking rubber at a plantation he rented in Adakkakundu in Kalikavu.
Even though the animal escaped the forest search team, it was caught by forest workers in a camera trap set on Friday night. An adult tiger, about eight or 10, was captured in cameras on a private plantation, and Gafore was attacked on Thursday.
Kalikavu Forest Range Official P. Rajeev said the tiger found in the camera was in the database of Silent Valley National Park. The Kalikavu Forest series is continuous with the woods that make up the buffer zone of the Silent Valley National Park.
The attacks have bred bushes in private plantations, making it easier for wildlife to enter the area.
Mr Rajiv said the search will continue on Sunday. The search group consists of more than 50 members and is divided into three teams. The Kumki elephant is also assisting forest workers in the search.
The plan is to calm down and catch tigers when it is impossible to cause harm. However, these teams are already ready for extreme situations that may require self-defense, and shooting may become an inevitable choice.
DFO has been transferred
Meanwhile, Dhanik Lal, a forest official in southern Niranpur, was transferred to the forest headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram while leading the tiger hunt.
Although the forest department said the diversion was related to Muvattupuzha’s vigilance case, the political players were allegedly lagging behind.
