Former Australian captain Michael Clarke

Rohit Sharma’s performance in the IPL over the past few years has raised concerns about the Mumbai Indians as he has only surpassed 400 in the final nine seasons of the league.
Former Australian captain Michael Clarke has expressed support for Rohit Sharma during his recent struggles in the IPL 2025 season. The dynamic opener failed to have a significant impact on the Mumbai Indians, resulting in the team winning only one-fifth of the game so far. Rohit faced criticism for his lack of performance in just 38 of four games, which led to a poor overall performance of the MI batting lineup. Despite missing his last match against Royal Challenger Bengaluru due to a knee injury, Rohit is expected to face the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
Clarke believes that Rohit has only a solid situation in a century before the 2025 IPL. The MI star managed to score just over fifty points in his last 12 innings, and he currently has a lot of scrutiny on his performance.
“I think Rohit is an absolute superstar. It’s just a matter of time for him (A) a hundred. I think it’s going to take one inning. It could be 40 innings. It could be 60, it could be 60. He’ll get momentum.
Rohit Sharma’s performance in the IPL over the past few years has raised concerns about the Mumbai Indians as he has only surpassed 400 in the final nine seasons of the league.
The dynamic opener has not yet reached the 20-time milestone of this season. Although he showed hope on some of the boundaries, he has been working hard to turn those starts into high scores.
Despite his recent challenges, the captain of the 2015 World Cup champion stressed that high expectations are top players like Rohit. He assured fans that the class was permanent, suggesting his belief in Sharma’s ability to rebound.
He added: “He’ll get the motivation and then, you know, you’ll see Rohit Sharma’s best. I won’t be too worried about his form. We all have high expectations for great players because they’ve had a lot of success in a long time, yes, you can miss a few games. But the classroom is the class,” he added.
