KL Rahul left last season’s bag taggage, which will do a good job for him, for DC: Pujara

New Delhi: Cheteshwar Pujara believes KL Rahul has shifted last season with the disappointing situation of Lucknow Super Giants, and the change in mindset will not only help him thrive in the new IPL series, but will also make him a strong asset for the Indian team.

Rahul hit the third fifty-fifty of the season, bringing his MEW side Delhi Capitals to an eight-goal victory at the former franchise LSG in Lucknow on Tuesday.

“Kujara said at Espncricinfo’s advance: “Keep going and don’t bring any luggage from the past. It’s a good thing. Kuala Lumpur is a full-fledged player. His hit on format has been great in recent years.”

“He doesn’t want to think about the past, don’t want to enjoy hitting and getting into his area, rather than considering what went wrong with him playing for the LSG team.

“It’s a good thing to keep going and it will also help him perform well in DC and even in India. Because recently, he’s the Indian team also relied on his way of hitting the ball.”

Under the leadership of Rahul’s Captain, LSG entered the playoffs in 2022 and 2023 seasons. However, Lucknow’s costume finished seventh last season.

Rahul’s relationship with LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka also deteriorated last year. In a popular video on social media, Ghoenka was publicly condemned for the former Lucknow captain after his defeat.

A few months later, the 33-year-old was released by the franchise before a major auction.

In DC, one of the most stable players in the IPL has become the leading scorer this season, scoring 323 in seven innings.

“Even if he looks more mature now, he knows his game very well. We’ve seen another KL Rahul this season. When he started (for LSG), he didn’t look like he’s seen (Flufid), but he still picks it up,” Pujara said.

Former England opener Nick Knight added that the lack of captain duties could also lead to Rahul’s bat freedom.

“The captain can do something interesting to you – sometimes you thrive on it, sometimes it’s a burden. There’s any impact now, now it’s no longer the captain, just being free and able to play the game situation.”

“Our obsession with cricket is that the best players have to be captains. Not always, is that? I’m not saying that’s the case with KL Rahul or even Rishabh Pant, but he’s hitting with such free time and looking relaxed, looking relaxed in the crease.”
