Collector DK Balaji reviewed the arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on May 2. He will arrive at Gannavaram Airport and head to Velagapudi.
Mr Balaji held a preparatory meeting with Krishna District Police Chief R. Gangadhar Rao, joint collector Geetanjali Sharma and airport assistant manager Srilekha on Saturday with tax, airport, police, medical and health, AP-Transco and other department officials.
Collectors say the governor, union minister and other VIPs may arrive at the airport with Mr. Modi.
“Uninterruptible power, drinking water and facilities should be provided. Airport authorities should send messages to ordinary passengers in order to arrive early and take measures to avoid any inconvenience to passengers who book tickets on various flights,” Mr Balaji said.
Collectors say responsibilities will be assigned to district-level officials and tax passes will be issued to officials.
Checked the hotel
Meanwhile, NTR Commissioner Police made a check at Vijayawada’s cabin on Saturday.
Police verified the details of the records, CCTV, the customers staying in the cabin, as well as their phone numbers, addresses and other details.
