KTR urges action to prevent misfortune, deaths in fire

Hyderabad: On Monday, the BRS said the fire accident on Sunday in Gulzar Houz, in which 17 people were killed, revealing purely unprepared and lack of fire safety methods, as well as fire and rescue operations in the state.

Party Chairman KT Rama Rao, who interacted with locals and affected families after visiting the scene of the accident, expressed disappointment with the fully equipped firefighters who claimed they did not have masks to protect the smoke, how these ambulances took the injured ambulance to the hospital’s ambulance, not oxygen or masks. “When some fire bidding arrived at the site, there was no water,” he said.

Speaking to reporters, Rama Rao said: “I did not criticize anyone, but expressed concerns shared by the victim’s family and emphasized the gaps that require urgent attention. This incident is one of the most painful tragedies in Hyderabad’s history, with eight of the victims being children.

Rama Rao said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who owns the home and municipal government portfolio, visited the accident and it will provide some solace for grieving families and send a strong message about the government’s commitment to public safety. He added: “The only requirement for locals and everyone is that such tragedies should not recur and destroy families.”

“When summer comes, municipal administration should call a review meeting to assess the preparations for fire prevention. This did not happen, which is unfortunate,” he said.

Rama Rao called on the government to provide Rs 2.5 lakh as compensation for each loss, saying that the population density and narrow lanes of old towns such as Gulzar Houz made fire and rescue operations extremely difficult. “Our officials need regular training and simulation exercises. Emergency services must be equipped and functional. This is not only a requirement, but also a requirement,” he said.

He also said the government will provide the same interest and concern on public safety issues as it did in holding beauty pageants.
