Javed Akhtar defends Mohanlal, Mammootty

After the screenwriters of iconic films like “Deewar” and “Sholay” supported Mohanlal and Mammootty, there have been criticisms for performing Puja for his Muslim friends on Sabarimala Temple.

Javed Akhtar wrote on X: “It is obvious that their good friendship goes beyond understanding of some small, narrow, trivial, trivial and negative people, but they care.”

Mohanlal prays for Mammootty

Mohanlal sparked a religious debate and landed in soup after praying for the success of Mammootty’s “Movie, l2:empuraan”.

The controversy began on March 18, during Usha Puja, when superstar Mohanlal submitted a note to the priest of Sabarimara Temple, referring to Mammootty’s last name Muhammed Kutty and his birth star Vishakham.

Receipts from Devaswom’s office later became popular on social media and sparked a line.

oAbdullah: Mammootty committed a “huge crime”

Political analyst and journalist O Abdullah began the debate. He quoted Quaran’s verse, saying that if he asked Mohanlal to perform Puja in Sabarimala Temple, Mammootty committed a “huge crime”.

He said in an audio message: “If according to mammootty’s knowledge, he should seek forgiveness. He should apologize to the Muslim community. It was a serious mistake from the actors. If Mohanlar performed the offering without the knowledge of his mother, there was nothing wrong with it.”

He further added: “Mohanlar’s belief in Lord Ayaypa must be so high. He may have done this based on this belief. But if the dedication is made using Mammootty’s instructions, it would be a big crime.”

He said, “According to the Islamic faith, anyone except Allah. This is a violation.”

Mohanlal: That’s right

But a frigid Mohanlal, fearing the gun, asked, “What’s wrong with praying for his friend?”

He called Mammootty his brother, “He was in good condition. He had a small health problem, but it was normal for everyone. There was nothing to worry about.”
