Launched a hotline for dairy farmers

Dairy Development Minister T. Mano Thangaraj said on Wednesday that Aavin’s goal is to serve consumers while providing stable income for dairy farmers. It buys 3.65 million liters of milk from 3.8 million farmers a day and sells 3.02 billion liters of milk every day.

He said that under the capacity of Chief Minister Stalin, milk procurement has grown steadily over the past four years. He added: “We are taking steps to increase sales of milk in cities. At the same time, quality cannot be compromised. We will take strict action against those who are addicted to malfeasance.”

He launched a free telephone lead service hotline for dairy farmers in the state – 1800-425-2577. Those who need help from a veterinary doctor can refer to this number as being carried by Indusind Bank Limited (IBL) and Bharat Financial Computation Limited (BFIL) (BFIL) (a wholly owned subsidiary of IBL), which is Bharat Sanjeevari program of BFIL.

Animal Husbandry Secretary N. Subbian and A. Annathurai, Managing Director of Aavin, were present.
