BSNL plans to launch 5G services in the city, allocating Rs 61,000 crore in 5G spectrum from the government

According to the report Economic times, BSNL, citing an official, owns spectrum in the Prime Minister’s Band, which includes 5G at 700 MHz and 3300 MHz. By mid-2025, the goal of state-owned companies is to launch services in Delhi.
The move is seen as a milestone in BSNL’s financial and technological revival.
In addition, BSNL has been building towers in several areas of the national capital. The company is expected to launch 5G services in other states soon as well.
Committed to revive BSNL
Earlier this year, the central government approved BSNL’s 4G network to increase by Rs 60,000 crore, media reports. In addition, nearly Rs 3.22 billion crore has been allocated to BSNL through various government packages, which underscores the centre’s commitment to resuming the public telecommunications industry.
