Little boy died after being hit by a car at Westmes estate

A young boy died after a crash in a car in Westmes.

GardaĆ­ called on Witnesses to collide shortly after 6.30 pm on the Farranshock Estate in Mullingar.

The boy was treated on site and was taken to Mulingal Hospital by ambulance and later pronounced dead. Goldayi said the coroner had been notified and an autopsy would be scheduled now.

Currently, the scene of the collision is inspected by Garda Forensic Collision investigators.

GardaĆ­ calls on anyone who may have witnessed the collision and stood up.

At that time, road users or pedestrian videotapes in the area were requested to be used for investigations of GardaĆ­.

Also on Monday, a man in his 20s died in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

The crash occurred at about 6pm yesterday, at the intersection of R521 and R523 in Ardagh village.

The motorcycle rider, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was transferred to Kaili University Hospital to treat inanimate injuries.
