Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar suddenly left Dais on Thursday (20 March 2025), where the organizers were surprised at the inauguration of the international sporting event before the national anthem.

A few minutes later, officials brought back people from the 1970s and the plan was restored.

The 2025 Sepak Takraw World Cup will be held at Pataliputra Sports Complex, with 300 players and support staff from 21 countries participating.

Officials were shocked when CM left cabinet colleagues and officials suddenly stood up from their seats and walked down the daisy during the inaugural ceremony of the competition, and the host announced it was time for the national anthem.

Mr. Kumar, 74, walked to the participants and greeted them with “Namaste” and a wave of hands.

A cultural program was also organized on this occasion in which a performer wearing a mask similar to an animal’s head approached the CM for a handshake.

Mr. Kumar spent his day in the state legislature, witnessing his anger between both houses, apparently fearful and insisted on taking off his mask.

The performers are obliged to shake hands with the CM around them, and are surrounded by ministers and officials.

Eventually, Mr. Kumar returned to the stage and played the national anthem.

Countries such as China, Indonesia, Japan, Iran, Nepal, France, Germany, Italy, the United States, Brazil and host India are participating in the competition that ended on March 25.
