Centre approved sewer, separating management project value of 3,849.1 CR in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) has approved three sewer and isolation management projects worth Rs 3849.1 crore Hyderabad 2.0 under Atal Restoration and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).

This was expressed by Tokhan Sahu, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, while answering the question raised by BJP MP MP Eatala Rajender in Lok Sabha. Rajender tried to know if the government had any suggestions on allocating sufficient funds under the SBM-U for the construction of sewage treatment facilities and underground drainage systems in Hyderabad and Telangana.
In response, Sahu said that under SBM-U 2.0, all states including Telangana were launched on October 1, 2021, including Wastewater Management (ULB) in urban areas with a population of less than 10,000, including the new component UWM.
Therefore, Hyderabad is not covered under the UWM component of SBM-U 2.0. In Amrut, ULB has a population of over one hundred thousand. The project of up to Rs 66 is 166308 crore with a capacity of 18.25 MLD, which includes four sewer and isolation management projects worth Rs 2033 crore, which has been completed under Amrut’s leadership.
In addition, Mohua approved Rs 252 in Telangana, worth Rs 95,8426 crore, with a capacity of Rs 1,132, while a sewer or superior management project of Rs 1,200 has also been approved for Rs 5,777,51 crore.
