Sambhal Temple celebrates Holi 46 years later in UP

The Muslim population in Uttar Pradesh is about 20%, and is celebrated due to Friday’s prayers and Holi Festival. The center of this tension is Sambar, where 78% of the population is Muslim. 46 years later, Holi performed in the Kartikeya Temple in Sambhal.

In 1978, UP had a Jan Sangh government. Ramnaresh Yadav was the chief minister of the country when riots broke out in Sambhal and Holi was still the dream of the people here. Now, after 46 years of history, Holi is celebrated in the shadow of bayonets so that Hindus can celebrate their festivals in a country of 100 million Hindus and safely reach their homes.

46 years later, Sambhal’s Kartikeshwar Mahadev Temple showered again. Abir-Gulal was thrown in large quantities. The Bhajans sang, and people danced and sang happily. Nearly 40 years later, the Khaggu Sarai area responded to Holi Re rasiya’s voice again.

Holi started in Sambhal by providing Abir Gulal on the moisture of Kartikeshwar Mahadev Temple and received the blessing of Bajrang Bali. The Kartikeshwar Mahadev temple is 400 years old and has been worshipped here regularly, but riots broke out four days after Holi Festival in 1978, overshadowing the temple. The Hindus migrated and the temple became history. What followed was that Holi Festival here also became history. It was a day, and today was…the color drought on Holi Festival was finally over. 46 years ago, Sambhal saw the shower of colors. People greet each other by applying Abir-Gulal. People yearn for life again.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called on people to celebrate harmoniously Holi by following the centuries-old tradition of Sanatan Dharma.
