Court sets deadline for defense arguments in IRCTC Hotels case

Last month, the court set a six-day deadline to end allegations against former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, wife Rabri Devi, son and former CM Tejashwi Yadav of Bihar and others booked by CBI in the IRCTC Hotels case. However, no conclusion can be drawn. Although the CBI concluded that it requested a framework for the allegations of Lalu and other co-defendants, defense lawyers were unable to reach a conclusion. Lalu argues about the effectiveness of the sanctions CBI has obtained to sue him.
The court has now set a new eight-day deadline to demand that the four be forced to end their arguments about the case by March 29. The case will be resumed on a daily basis from March 22 to March 29. The Supreme Court of Delhi and the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi have accelerated matters related to the MP/MLA, which should be done daily… so that conclusions can be drawn.
The court asked defense lawyers to prepare for their counter-argument.
After the defense bar association’s counter-argument ends, the court will issue a judgment on whether to file charges against the defendant. If the court decides to file a charge, it means that the trial begins in the case.
