Wrinkle movement! Corgis participates in an action contest to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved dog breed

In all senses, she was ignored as a potential champion and a loser.

But for Juno, the winner of the Musselburgh Racing Corgi Derby, the roar of the crowd and the inspiring presence of Judy Murray, the mother of two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, proved to be decisive.

All the talks before the event were held at the Musselburg racing course in East Lothian, Scotland, two years ago champion Rodney.

Until the climax of the 70m race, Rodney’s prediction for his second victory looked reasonable.

However, when the current champion is accused of this line, his progress is hampered by fierce daisies, allowing Juno to glide inside.

In Kogi Racing’s dog-drinking world, this proves the merits of focus, determination, rather than jumping to the back of competitors’ competitors.

“This is her second game, so she’s already mastered all of that from the system, so she’s focused on the awards,” Rodney’s proud boss Alisdair Tew told ITV Racing.

“Most of the time, she’s a little like a fool, but I think she has the blood of a champion.”

Rodney’s fourth birthday is coming soon, followed by a photo with Murray, TEW and other owners Fran Brandon.

She won a trophy and a bag of snacks for trouble – will there not be a special victory meal?

“I think so,” Aristal said. “We like to let her eat her strict diet of falafel and brandy, so she might get more.”

The Corgi Derby was first held in 2022 to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, and its love for the breed is well known.
